The sound of Disco was fused in the 1970s when the lush orchestration of Philadelphia Soul met the rhythm and groove of Funk. New York took this to it’s zenith at the legendary Studio 54. Later came Hi-NRG, harder and faster, and then house and techno, carrying disco’s DNA into the future: the four-on-the-floor pulse, the insistent bass-line, and the urge to move, still influencing and defining dance music today.
Broad Town Brewery and ufodiscos.com present a night of Disco, it’s origins and offspring. Studio 54 returns not to New York, but to the Hop Chapel Broad Town.
